Super Bowl LVII commercial gave us a glimpse of the new Flash movie which was rumored to have been cancelled. We first got wind of a possible Flash movie back in 2020 which would base its story off of the DC animated movie Flashpoint in which the Flash runs so fast that he goes back in time to try and save his mother from being murdered by his arch nemesis Eobard Thorne, The Reverse-Flash.
The Flash finds himself in an alternate universe where the Batman is none other than Bruce Waynes father Robert Wayne. Barry Allen is faced with the hard decision whether to save his mother and alter the futures time space continuum or come to an acceptance of his mothers fate and continue to live on.
In the trailer we see The Flash watching as little Barry Allen runs out of the house into the street after witnessing his mother's murder. The Flash then discovers himself as a teenager sometime before he received his powers. Both the Flash and teenage Barry appear in the lab where Barry first received his powers.
The scene then switches to The Flash seeking advice from Ben Affleck's Batman making it clear of his intentions to go to the past and fix the present situation. Bruce Wayne responds saying that he could also destroy everything. Next, we find both Barrys together in what appears to be the Batcave with none other than Micheal Keaton's Batman. Keaton's Batman and both Flashes team up Kara (also known as Super Girl) to take down General Zod.
The Flash movie premiers in theaters June 16, 2023
